Didcot Choral Society began their 50th anniversary celebrations with Fauré’s tender and lyrical Requiem – written in the composer’s own words "for fun" and described by one critic as "a lullaby of death". The concert also included a performance of Duruflé’s Requiem, much-influenced by Fauré. The choir was conducted by Robert Legg, and accompanied by the ISIS Chamber Orchestra. Local soloists were Susan Young and Ronan Busfield.
